WHERE NATURE MEETS HERITAGE AND HUMAN CONNECTIONS

Just 5 minutes from the hotel, the Saint-Paul area reveals some of Reunion Island’s most compelling cultural and historical highlights:

  • Musee de Villele, the former colonial estate of Madame Desbassayns, offers a powerful insight into the island’s history and multicultural roots.
  • Jardin d’Eden, a beautiful celebration of local biodiversity —ideal for an immersive botanical stroll.
  • A selection of emblematic religious sites, reflecting Reunion Island’s rich cultural diversity and spirit of tolerance.emblématiques, témoins de la multiculturalité et de la tolérance réunionnaise.

Saint-Gilles-les-Bains

FROM OCEAN ACTIVITIES TO VIBRANT NIGHTS
Its marina is the perfect starting point for boat trips to spot whales, dolphins and turtles, as well as scuba dives at outstanding sites. In the town centre, a lively mix of bars and restaurants sets the scene for music-filled evenings—an ideal way to discover the flavours of Reunion Island cuisine.

Boucan Canot

Between lagoon, iconic beaches and island living

Boucan Canot is perfect for beach days and swimming: its natural sea pool, jogging along the sand, lazy afternoons on your towel, and a great choice of beachfront restaurants. Near Cap Homard, an impressive rocky outcrop, you’ll find the quieter Petit Boucan beach—where beach tennis players gather for a game.

Piton Maïdo

A breathtaking view over Mafate from Maido
One of Reunion Island’s most visited landmarks, Maido rises to 2,200 metres above sea level and is easily accessible by car. From this spectacular viewpoint, it overlooks the cirque of Mafate—reachable only on foot or by helicopter—revealing vast, breathtaking landscapes.

Saint-Paul

The island’s best anchorage bay

The historic town of Saint-Paul is home to a vast black-sand bay, where the island’s first settlers are said to have landed. It is the oldest commune on Reunion Island. Saint-Paul is also famous for its open-air market on Friday and Saturday mornings—brimming with spices, tropical fruit, flowers, rum and local crafts.
Its small seaside cemetery holds the grave of the last French pirate, Olivier Levasseur, known as “La Buse”. For scenic discovery, explore the Tour des Roches and the Etang Saint-Paul Nature Reserve on foot, by bike or by car.
